Happy Hump Day Everybody!
Hope everybody's week is off to a wonderful start--and also hope that the second half flys by so you can get to your weekend!
Well the plans are made and I am off to Chicago for wedding dress shopping! I am a little nervous, but it will be a blast. That is the only new news for the wedding planning so far.
I will be chatting with a girl about the Bay Harbor Golf club for a reception site--we will see if it fits in the budget!

We have set a date!!!
Good Morning and Happy Sunday!
Well wedding planning is underway! We have set a date of August 25, 2012! We have been busy talking and deciding and then changing our minds and deciding again! Oh its sure is going to be an adventure. I finally was able to ask my sister to be a part of our special day. She will also be standing up along with the other girls.
The only decision we have made so far is that we will be getting married on the pier in charlevoix! I am extremely excited to bring Mike's family to Charlevoix and share my roots with them. Charlevoix is very much a reason I am who I am today--plus its natural beauty will be an amazing back drop!
We are still looking for a reception site that fits both of our personalities! That could be tough. We decided to avoid the castle and the perry hotel. We are hoping to find a place that is both romantic and fun, but it has to outdoors and by the water!
My mom has decided to help plan a weekend of dress shopping in Chicago! It should be an amazing experience. I will have a some of the most important people there, but a few will be missing! (i am sad that leona and manda are so far away!)
So far that is it. I will keep everybody updated as far as more plans and ideas. If anybody has any thoughts a great reception site please let us know. I am open to new ideas!

Good Morning!
Well we had a wonderful vacation in Costa Rica, but it was back to reality a week ago. We returned to Colorado with below freezing weather, and we are currently expecting 19 inches of snow. Makes me want to return to the beach with some of the best people in the world.
Well we had a wonderful vacation in Costa Rica, but it was back to reality a week ago. We returned to Colorado with below freezing weather, and we are currently expecting 19 inches of snow. Makes me want to return to the beach with some of the best people in the world.
It was so amazing to catch up with my girls and to really get to know their husbands. It is amazing that it has been 9 years since I have seen them, but it was like not a single day had passed. Mike also got to meet everybody, and they all approved! Which means I was able to ask them to be a part of our special day. So I will have Kyle, Manda and Leona all standing up on our special day. I was also able to ask my best friend Kelly to be my made of honor. I couldnt ask for a better group of girls to be there on this special day. I do have one more person to ask to be a part of it, but I havent been able to yet. We will keep that name a secret!
Well I have to get ready for my drive in to work today. I hope everybody is having a wonderful week. I will post more later! Have great day!

Welcome to 2011 Everybody!
I hope everybodys year is off to a wonderful start! Mine is off to a quiet start, but that is soon to change. We leave for Costa Rica in a short 20 days. Hard to believe that I will be reuniting with my 3 best friends that I have not see in 9 years. We have been planning this trip for over a year now and its actually happening. I will never forget the day we all bought our tickets--I was grinning ear to ear. Its going to be wonderful. They will all be meeting Mike for the first time. I will be introducing him as my fiance instead of my boyfriend! (I had to throw that in there!)
As far as wedding planning goes--where do I even begin. Mike and I will be paying for the wedding so some ideas on how to stay in budget would be great! We have talked and all I seem to get out of Mike is "it is your day!" Makes me laugh. I have been doing some research and I am hoping that we will be able to have the wedding on Mackinac Island. The Grand Hotel is the ideal wedding spot in my mind! We shall see if it works out. I have been making check lists and trying to figure out the best route to follow when planning a wedding. I get all nervous just thinking about it!
Well I have to get working on my teaching philosophy--Hope to write some more this evening.

The year ahead
Good Morning and Happy Almost 2011!
Looking back this year has been filled with so much joy, laughter, sadness and tears. I have to say a very well rounded year! I am very excited to see what 2011 has to bring for not only us, but also friends and family. We will be visiting some very very important people at the end of January (a visit that is long overdue!), my sister is getting married at the end of February, I just found out my cousins are expecting their first in June, Brit and Lucas are expecting their first in July, Bryan and Jenny are getting married in September, and my mom will be turning 60 in October. So far looks like this year is already off to a great start and is going to give us lots of reasons to be thankful and celebrate!
Sometimes we lose sight of what life is really about. My experiences, my friends and my family have taught me that life is way to short to sit and dwell on the past. I do feel that reflection and acceptance are very important, but most of all I believe that forgiveness makes us who we are today and prepares us for the future. I hope everybody welcomes 2011 with open arms and smiles. Embrace everything life has to offers! It may not all be good, but that makes the good moments even better!
One more thing that 2011 has to offer mike and me is a year filled with wedding planning!! I have been doing some research as far as DIY stuff and budget weddings! We were talking last night--I think I need some input on this. We are thinking that a small wedding is our only option! The issue is we have so many people we want to share this special day with. What do you guys think of a small wedding--and then for example having a party in CO for those that we want to celebrate with, but cant invite to the wedding?
If anybody has some blogs or sites they would recommend for "budgeting brides" let me know!

She Said Yes!
I am ready to share with the world the most amazing news--Mike and I are getting married!!!
I am starting this blog because of the distance between family and friends sharing news is not always the easiest. I am hoping that this blog will bring everybody in our lives together to not only be a part of our everyday lives--but to also share their thoughts! Please feel free to ask question, leave comments, or pop in to just see what we have planning and doing! ( I will also be sharing information regarding our wedding--if anybody has any ideas or thoughts please feel free to share--I am a little overwhelmed and I am still taking it all in!)
